We do not try and review too many breads these days as our girls like to stick with some favorites like Udi’s and Rudi’s.  My mother-in-law makes bread for the girls from time to time as well.  We did find a new one to try recently at Earth Fare.

Canyon Bakehouse (http://canyonglutenfree.com/) makes a variety of interesting products.  In browsing their site, I cannot say I ever saw gluten free foccacia before.  My wife and I used to eat quite a lot of that before she went gluten free.  They also sell a gluten free rye, muffins, hamburger buns, and hot dog rolls among other things.

So how does it taste?  My wife tried it with the girls.  They tried one sandwich and wanted to go back to Udi’s.  My wife finished the loaf, and while she like the taste, she found the bread a little too sticky, even when toasted.  That, of course, transitioned into it also being difficult to cut.  So for your everyday school lunches, probably stick to Udi’s and other popular brands.  You can find many of our reviews on bread and bread products here: http://www.raleighcelkids.com/?s=bread.  Definitely try Canyon though, and we will continue the hunt for the elusive gf foccacia they sell…may need to order it!
