History of the Raleigh Cel-Kids group

What started as some parents wanting to share ideas for coping with their children’s Celiac Disease has turned into a successful support group for parents across the Triangle.  While many support groups exist for CD, none really focus on the unique challenges families with children face.  When you begin to think about amusement parks, school lunches, candy, and camp, you begin to see a need to allow families to come together and share ideas, struggles, and support.

In early 2008, the original members of the Raleigh Cel-Kids group met with Pat Berger, head of the Greater North Raleigh Celiac Support Group to begin planning ways to communicate to parents of children with Celiac.  The group organizes family outings to share information, invite gluten free vendors to bring samples, and compare stories.  The group will continue to sponsor these family events, showing children that even though they live with a strict diet, others are living with Celiac, and enjoying life!

    Hi,

Is there a way to subscribe to know when new posts have been added here?

    Celeste,

Yes, you can subscribe! Great question! All you need to do is click on the little orange square with the ‘sound waves’ inside at the top of the blog page. That is our RSS feed. Clicking it will allow you to add Raleigh Cel Kids to your favorite RSS reader. I personally use Google Reader for all my ‘subscriptions,’ but there are many free ones out there. Then all our updates will come to you automatically!

    Thanks!

    ~Chris
